The Carousel Lounge welcomes you to Beat the January blues with a night of rock and roll for the modern age. The Saturday January 24th event showcases four Austin bands at the iconic carnival-covered venue. Opening up the night at 7 PM will be former Indiana residents Know More Robots. The Robots weirdly haunting tracks are a surprisingly good fit for our fine city and channel the desultory solitude embedded in the Texas mythos. Next on the bill and newcomers to the Austin scene, Shayne Johansen and the Haymakers, sound like a Crazy Horse for the 21st century.

Shaking things up in the prime time spot is Waldo Wittenmyer and the Wall of Sound. The Wall of Sound has a little something for everyone with their infectious rock-punk-pop country hybrid.
Closing out the night is Carousel regular and Houston native, Ethan Kennedy. With a sound best described as progressive blues, Kennedy is a commanding presence with a dexterous hand and soulful voice. He'll be accompanied on drums by the ever-steady Aeran Shabi.
