A Taste Of Country at The City Market
On Oct.4,2008 Day Records and The City Market
will host "A Taste Of Country at The City
Market".Located at 222 E.Market St.
Indianapolis,IN.The market itself dates back
to 1821 and was recently restored.Each week,
hundreds of residents, office workers,
homemakers, artists and chefs shop
side-by-side on Market Street, choosing from
hundreds of varieties of delicious fruits,
garden-fresh vegetables, beautiful bedding
plants, dazzling fresh-cut flowers and other
homegrown products while listening to the best
in live local music.
This event will host six indy country music
bands.The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and
end at 10:00 p.m. and will be free admission
to all.
Opening the show will be the Barry And Jones
Band.The 4 piece band is from the Bloomington
area and has been playing for
over 25 years.Consisting of Bob Jones, Rob
Berry, Scott Frye,and Kenny Robinson.
They have played local establishments in
Bloomington & Bedford Indiana and Nashville.
Bob's favorite old saying that he is known for
is " Take a Big Ole Drink"!!
Rob Barry is one of the most talented
musicians and vocalists in thebusinesss. His
performances are electrifying. Rob is
recognized by all who have heard and seen him
play as one of the foremost Banjo players in
America. "Boot Leg Days from his Southern
Dream CD illustrate his Bluegrass talent" At
age eleven Rob won the Tri-State Appalachian
Folk Festival Bluegrass Banjo Championship at
Lexington, Kentucky. Rob is also a master at
the acoustic and electric guitar. His
high-energy performances are marked by his
trademark of playing behind his back. He can
also play and sing beautiful ballads as done
on "Southern Dream" and the hit song "Don't
Say No Tonight", a song Rob co-wrote , and
recorded by Mason-Dixon. Rob is an
accomplishedsong writerr who co-wrote all ten
of the songs on the Southern Dream CD.
The second act is BackTraked!Listening to a
modern country band that can make you move
your feet is easy. BackTraked takes the stage
and explodes in a way that makes your whole
body shake like a gator chasing Motown.
BackTraked can take you down the many dirt
roads of country music. This Indianapolis
based music machine is led by Johnny Vincent
and his seductive voice and pounding bass
guitar. The band sports high energy fiddle
playing by Sara Anderson and driving lead and
rhythms on guitar by Dale Robbins and Mark
Pishon. Percussion is provided by the fierce
smiling Toby Sowers. The shows are always
entertaining with edgy twang suitable to the
likes of even the most die hard country fan.
The Third band ,Fonda And The Country Road
Band.This band puts on a very high energy show
every time they take the stage, with a lot of
crowd interaction.They are working on an all
Original CD to be released by the early part
of 2009.They have been touring through out
Indiana and surrounding states ,providing
great entertainment for their fans and winning
over many more as they play.
Next up is Whitney Thetford.This is one
talented young lady. Performing for an
audience is her passion.She will have your
feet tapping and hands clapping.She has
performed numerous venues,and has won the
hearts of many.She has performed The National
Anthem at several events such as The Detroit
Lions, The Indianapolis Motor Speedway,
O'Reilly Raceway Park, Indiana Ice, Cincinnati
Reds, and the Indianapolis Indians.
Following her will be The Wade Burleson
Band.Original Country with a splash of
southern rock ,this band has alot to offer
!!!They have been nominated this year’s best
country band and their song "Satisfaction
Guaranteed"has been nominated this year’s best
country single in the Lafayette Music Awards.
Bruno Ranieri & Smokin Guns will headline the
show .
Having released his album "HillBilly Ways" he
is currently touring to promote his career.He
released the video for Hillbilly Ways in April
2008.He has a musical style that can be
labeled outlaw,rockabilly, or traditional
country.He has written over 70 songs and is
planning his next album titled "Modern Times'
to be released sometime next year.Bruno is on
over 300 web sites,and has been on many radio
stations including,WPAY,WNXT,ABC RADIO
NETWORK,LAST FM.He is very Energetic in his
performance,and loves a lively audience.His
music and lyrics are true to the down home
country values that makes him who he is,a true
"hillbilly". .
There will also be an after party for the
bands and fans.It will kick off at 7:00 and
wrap up at 10:00.Be sure to stick around for
the party!Meet n Greet the bands,get
autographs and pictures.
Each Artist will have a booth where they will
have cd's and band merchandise available to
purchase.I'm sure that they would all be
honored to sign them for you after the show.
This is an event that you wont want to

its a rough road to the top!!
